Sunday 6th July brought a crisp, chilly start to Round 6 of the Pro MX Championship in Canberra — and while the temperatures were low, the action on track was anything but!
James Davison and Raffael Rossiter lined up to take on Australia’s best, ready to test themselves on their home track. Maybe those familiar ruts and berms brought a few extra nerves along for the ride! They were definitely deeper, bigger, and far more challenging than what you’d see on a regular ride or club day.

James had a couple of rough moments during qualifying and the opening moto, crossing the line 23rd in Race 1. But after a few bike tweaks, a clearer head, and plenty of deep breaths, he regrouped. By the time the second moto rolled around — with a thunderstorm sweeping in to make things even more interesting — he dug deep to push through the slippery conditions and crossed the line in 19th for MX1. Not quite the result he’d hoped for, but cracking the top 20 is still something to build on.

For Raffael Rossiter, Canberra marked his first crack at the Pro MX series — and he handled the step up to the national stage with grit and determination. He finished 32nd in his first race and found more speed and confidence in the second, jumping up to 23rd by the chequered flag. A huge achievement and a taste of what’s to come as he settles into racing at this level.
Massive well done to both riders — plenty learned, plenty gained, and a big tick for pushing through the cold, the nerves, and that wild Canberra weather. Onwards and upwards to the next round!
